Meaghan Hickey, of Arlington spends spring break on concert tour of Europe

2014 Mar 31

Saint Anselm College student and Arlington resident, Meaghan Hickey, a junior English major, traveled with the college choir during spring break to perform in churches throughout central Europe.

The group's musical tour included stops in Budapest, Hungary; Bratislava, Slovakia; Prague, Czech Republic; and Berlin, Germany where they performed concerts and sang at Mass. They also toured Benedictine Abbey of Pannonhalma Archabbey in Hungary and other historic sites.

The group of twenty-nine students was accompanied by alumnus and assistant to the choir director, Robert Aldrich '01 and choir director, Fr.Bede Camera, O.S.B.

"The overarching purpose for the trip is to give students the opportunity to explore historic places in Europe and sing in front of European audiences," says Choir Director Fr. Bede Camera, O.S.B. "It is an enriching experience for all of us, each taking something personal and meaningful in his or her own way."

Previous choir groups have performed in cities such as Vienna, Prague, Rome, Zurich, and Paris.
